The stallion parade has brought the small medieval town of Celle a widespread reputation. On two weekends in September the Lower Saxony State Stud is the venue for THE equestrian spectacle in the Südheide area.

The stars of this spectacular parade are the beautifully turned out stallions of the state stud. Spectators are always fascinated by the grace and beauty of these horses on the parade ground, whether they are being led, ridden or are pulling a carriage. The dressage quadrille and impressive team demonstrations are highlights that return year after year.

On the southern edge of Lüneburg Heath is the enchanting medieval town of Celle with its well-preserved centre of more than 500 timber-framed buildings and the 13th century ducal palace. Celle combines vibrant modern-day life with the tradition of a medieval town.

Beautiful parks and gardens, monuments and sculptures by well-known artists... a walk around Celle is an experience for all the senses. The art museum offers round-the-clock exhibitions and the Eberhard Schlotter Museum has numerous works by this important post-war German artist. Productions of all kinds are staged at the palace theatre, Europe's oldest baroque theatre still in use.
